Heart shaped door wreath
- 12th February 2015
With Valentine's just two days away, Kate showed us how to make a stunning heart shaped door wreath to greet not just the postman but obviously our loved one as well... The brief was to combine as many textures as possible.
I covered the outer sides of my heart with glossy black ti leaves and the insides with a red woollen ribbon. A variety of foliage - I chose Ming fern, Buxus sempervirens, dark Hebe, prostrate Rosemary and variegated Griselinia - then followed.
I then added both Fatsia and Hedera (ivy) berries as well as spiky Eryngium (sea holly) and a tassel like flower (name unknown; similar to an Amaranthus but too early for them!) before finishing off with glorious Gerbera and velvety red roses; both in the colour of love - red.
Stunning!
