Lucy and James' Wedding

Lucy and James tied the knot in spectacular Hurstpierpoint College Chapel on a late summer afternoon and their reception followed in glorious Pangdean Barn on the outskirts of Brighton.

Lucy chose pink spray roses, light blue Hydrangea, blue Delphinium, white Veronica, Senecio cineraria, Eryngium, double white Lisianthus and green Hypericum berries for her bouquet and her three bridesmaids had a similar variation. Buttonholes and corsages echoed these flowers. 

The most exciting thing for me was creating two 1m x 2m floral installations for the Chapel featuring white, pink, green and cerise carnations. My aim was to try and echo the beautiful stained glass windows with these floral 'walls' and hopefully I achieved that. 

The reception venue was decorated with a plethora of jam jars and bottles as well as two milk churns, a wall basket and a bar centrepiece and flowers for the three tiered cake too. The aforementioned wall was transported lock, stock and barrell to the reception venue - this time joined together to form a beautiful backdrop against a hay wall.

And as is always the norm, a Floranina heart featured too of course. And both sets of mums were given pretty thank you bouquets as well...

A lot of man hours went into creating all the various floral components for this wedding but boy was it an absolute joy to do it all. 

I cannot thank my husband John enough for all the help, encouragement and assistance he has given me for many a week of planning etc and a HUGE thank you to Jan Crouch who, once again, was my wonderful assistant for several days and also to Amanda Keys who helped create so many of the jam jars. 

For the first time ever I was around to see my bride in all her finery and that sure was very special too.
