Rachel and Louis

This happy couple love the seaside very much so my driftwood theme suggestion for their wedding went down a storm.

For Rachel’s bouquet, we chose dreamy lilac Armando roses, white and purple double lisianthus, white germini and freesia, dark purple hypericum berries as well as purple and lilac sea lavender. The buttonholes and the corsages featured these blooms as well, as did the ‘thank you’ bouquets for the mums and grandmas.

Daughter Lola carried a pretty heart shaped wire basket filled with confetti; to make this a lasting memento for her, I glued on purple silk sweet peas (these were Rachel’s grandma’s favourite flower) as well as tiny pretty shells. And to make her feel extra special, I also made a headband as well as a bangle; again using silk sweet peas and tiny shells.

Two large pedestal arrangements in purple, lilac and creams beautified the boathouse ceremony area, while two circular wooden arrangements with spray roses and silk sweet peas graced the card and gift table in the marquee.

To really bring the seaside to this landlocked venue - Broyle Place near Ringmer - I also made two still lives complete with sandcastles, glass life buoys, flip flops and sticks of Brighton rock; not forgetting a wooden seagull to oversee it all! Something special for Lola and her little brother Harley to marvel at!

The circular tables inside the marquee featured stunning submerged driftwood sculptures in tall vases complete with shells, Eryngium and sea lavender. These were lit at night, adding an extra magical touch.

And finally, as is becoming the norm, a moss covered hanging heart rounded off my floral creations by being stapled to the ceremony table.
